Dissemination of the project results

Targeting to professionals, a few dissemination activities will be implemented:

(1) Workshop: a workshop will be organised by the UHULL by the end of the project to show the operation of the experimental prototype, test rig, and computer model, with around 50 participants;

(2) Journal publication: 5 papers will be submitted to high impact journals, i.e., Applied Energy, The Data Centre Journal, Energy, for publication, as part of the research outcomes;

(3) Conference Attendance: two conferences: (a) International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies (2020, venue to be confirmed, http://www.wsset.org/), (b) World Renewable Energy Congress (2021, venue to be confirmed, http://www.wrenuk.co.uk/congresses.html), will be attended by the researcher and host supervisors to present the research findings;

(4) Link to the European Data Centre Alliances (http://www.datacentrealliance.org) and EU Research Executive Agency - Unit A3 - RISE (http://ec.europa.eu/msca). By the end of the project, the project results (including newsletters) will be reported to the above EU offices. This will allow the project results to be effectively communicated to European professionals in the fields of data centre and refrigeration & air-conditioning.

Other communication activities

The communication activities will be processed through the instruments such as websites, social media, audio visuals, newsletter, events and networking, publications, and teaching materials. These are detailed as: (1) European Researcher’s Evening Event: The host staff and the researcher will attend this event by 2020; during which they will present to the students from European primary & secondary schools and universities in order to develop their interest in LHP and data centre heat removal technology; (2) Public Showcase: In March 2021, the host staff at the UHULL will organise a public showcase in Hull’s Annual Science Fair to present the project ideas to local citizens; (3) Social media/materials (Logo, Website, Social Networks and Videos): The project logo and website will be developed at the beginning of the project while the website will be updated on a regular basis. A few social networks including Youtube, Facebook and LinkedIn will be established (by June 2020) to communicate the project ideas and obtain opinions from the people linked to the networks. A video will be prepared by the end of 2020 to introduce the project ideas to public; this will then be uploaded to the above social networks; (4) Traditional media & press: A newsletter will be published by the end of 2020 to report the project concept and benefits; this will be delivered to wide range of personnel during the public showcases, exhibition, workshop and conferences; (5) Teaching to Young people: by July 2020, the researcher and host supervisors will collect the project findings to form a brief teaching resource, which will be updated in subsequent years. The researcher and the supervisors will use the material to present lectures to the undergraduate students at the host University and other Universities they will visit.

University of Hull

The University of Hull was founded in 1927 – originally as University College Hull. The foundation stone was laid the following year by the Duke of York (later King George VI, of The King's Speech fame) and we opened for business with 39 students and 14 ‘one-man’ departments. We’ve come a long way since then, to put it mildly. The University now has more than 16,000 students and around 2,500 employees, including more than 1000 academic staff.
